Xi Guohua, the chairman of China Mobile said that the company’s 4G subscribers can enjoy 2 GB of data for 70 yuan per month which is double the data volume of the previous plan. The new pricing is expected to take effect from June 1, 2014. When the pricing was announced in January, 2014 for the earlier 4G plans, it had aroused a lot of dissatisfaction in the cyberspace. The network has also been criticized for poor signals and limited coverage.

China Mobile in the month of April had noticed an increase by 2 million to about 5 million. This is still a small number when compared to the company’s 785 million mobile users in total. Xi added that the company will step up for the promotion of its 4G services and strengthening the network will be on top priority.

China Mobile was the first company in China to launch G services in the country. The company stepped ahead of the other two telecom giants of the country, China Telecom and China Unicom. Competition in the telecom sector has increased in recent times in China.
