The Czech office of Personal Data Protection, UOOU, dramatically rejected the application that Google had sent for the street view mapping service. According to the spokesperson of UOOU, they have turned down the application by Google for the collection of personal and private data from the region.
For Google this is direct set back, as its is not able to complete the whole street view program in Czech. Google had made a decission that it will be doing to program in most of the European countries. On the other hand Google is looking forward to have talks with the authorities at the UOOU.
For the moment there are only blurred images of people on Google street view in Czech, but the controversy shot up when there were images of people with clear identification of faces and the car license plates were clearly visible.
