With Shanghai Disney Resort opening up by 2015 end, fans of Disneyland won’t have to cross borders to witness the disney magic and meet their favorite characters. The resort has so far recruited 1,000 staff members, also known as ‘Cast Members’, after a long process of sifting through the country’s best graduates from local universities and colleges. The company intends to have seamless customer service and to achieve that, it has already sent many members for training to other locations.

For instance, over 200 students were sent for two months for an internship with Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida, for an internship in July 2014. The students were not only exposed to experience in tourism, but were also trained in entertainment and guest relations, following which they were placed in the Shanghai Disney Resort.

Thousands of graduates will be recruited under a campaign launched in September 2014, which will fill up positions and roles in food and beverage, merchandising, park operations and hotel operations. The company has already found candidates for entertainment roles, including dancers, performers and musicians through various auditions.

The new resort will reportedly distinguish itself from usual Disney franchises by way of integrating Chinese creative and performing talent into various productions. On completion, the park will host two themed hotels, dining and entertainment venues, recreational facilities, and a lake.
