Global Vice President Hugo Barra and India head Manu Kumar Jain of Xiaomi have confirmed that the Mi 5 smartphone will be launched on February 24, 2016. The news was earlier announced by Xiaomi co-founder Liwan Jiang through his Weibo account.
Hugo Barra and Manu Jain used the same image to tweet and announce the launch and wrote, “All you ever imagined, and more.” Since the announcement, a lot has been talked about the upcoming product. More reports have said that the company will unveil two Mi 5 smartphones at the launch event.
There have been many reports of the first model and is expected to sport a full HD display and a curved 3D glass back. There is also a second model which has a similar design with a metal body abd a QHD display.
The new smartphones will come with improved RAM and better storage options. The Mi 5 will also have a premium version which will have 4 GB RAM and a 64 GB of internal storage. While the rest of the hardware details are expected to be the same. Gadget enthusiasts from across the globe are eagerly waiting for the launch of the upcoming Mi phone.
