With the anti-national activities going on at the Delhi’s Jawaharlal Nehru University, Home Minister Rajnath Singh has said that the government says it will not tolerate any such activities in the country. Singh added that anyone raising anti-India slogans or who questions the unity and integrity of the country will not be spared.
The minister added, “Whatever is happening at JNU, I have given the required instructions and strict actions will be taken against them. We will not forgive them”. The Delhi Police has been directed to take the strongest possible action against the people who were involved in the anti-India acts in Jawaharlal Nehru University campus in recent times.
Kanhaiya Kumar, the Jawaharlal Nehru University Students Union president has been arrested on February 12, 2016. A few students were also booked for sedition. A group of students held an event at the JNU Campus and shouted slogans against the government and the country for hanging the Parliament attack convict Afzal Guru in 2013 on February 9, 2016.
The event was conducted despite the administration cancelled the permission terming it as anti-national. Another meeting was held at the Press Club of India in Delhi on February 10, 2016 where anti-India slogans were raised.
