Private messaging app, WhatsApp has finally introduced the feature to send documents through chats. The new feature has been introduced a year after the acquisition by social networking giant Facebook.
The feature to send documents is available in most of the recent builds that are available on Google Play. Moreover, WhatsApp has also introduced a couple of other features. People who use Android WhatsApp v2.12.453 will see a documents section instead of the gallery under attachments. However not all the users with the same app users.
Users who have the latest version from the company site, v2.12.489 will be able to see the option. But there is a limitation as the users will only be able to send PDF files but the file support is likely to expand in future. Additional features include 100 new emojis, Google Drive back up for chats and media and support for 5 new languages. It is also compatible with Android 6.0 Marshmallow permissions.
Moreover, another major feature added by WhatsApp is that the users will be able to see the blue ticks that indicates that the message has been read by the other party, directly from the main WhatsApp chat list. Earlier the users had to tap in chat to open and see if the receiver has read the messages or not.
