Smartphone manufacturing giant Xiaomi has announced that it is planning to double its offline presence in the next few months. Xiaomi has currently registered 90% of its sales from online channels in India.
Xiaomi India Head Manu Jain said, “For us, online is the dominant channel and we are trying to build a base for offline in India. We had a partnership with Redington last year (for distribution) and four weeks back, tied up with Innocomm and Just Buy Live”. Jain added that with the help of the two new partners, the company is now planning to sell its products through 5,000 shops and is planning to double the figure in a few months time.
The company recently launched Redmi 3S and Redmi 3S Prime in the country which have been priced at Rs. 6,999 and Rs. 8,999 respectively. The new phones will be initially available on Mi.com and Flipkart.com. Xiaomi has a record of selling a million handsets over 1 million phones in a quarter in the country.
The company did its first sale for Redmi 3S on Flipkart and Mi.com and sold out all 90,000 units. Xiaomi will open another sale on August 17, 2016 for Redmi 3S and Redmi 3S Prime with units as many as 90,000.
