British Prime Minister Boris Johnson recently recovered from coronavirus and as also returned to his office while taking charge of his duties. Amidst the lockdown, Johnson and his fiancé Carrie Symonds have welcomed a baby boy on April 29, 2020. A spokesperson of the Prime Minister informed that the PM and Ms Symonds are thrilled to announce the birth of their son who is healthy and was born at a hospital in London.
The spokesperson added that the baby and the mother are doing well. The month of April has not been easy for Johnson after he was diagnosed with coronavirus and was also sent to the Intensive Care Unit on April 6, 2020. Johnson returned to work on April 27, 2020 after spending a compulsory quarantine time. After he returned to his office, the PM addressed the nation at the Downing Street and urged the British citizens to remain patient and added that he wants the economy to be moving as fast as he can.
Mr. Boris Johnson added that he does not want all the sacrifices and efforts of the British citizens to be wasted and does not want the risk of a second major outbreak that could result in a huge loss of life. On the personal front, Johnson has four adult children with his former wife Mariana Wheeler. The divorce proceedings of the former couple had began in 2018. Boris took charge as the Prime Minister in July 2019 and Symonds had then moved in with him at Downing Street.
Symonds had announced about their engagement in February, 2020 through an Instagram post which had also announced that they were expecting a baby together who is due to be delivered early summer. As soon as the news of the baby broke out, colleagues of the Prime Minister took their respective social media accounts to congratulate the couple. While Johnson was recovering from his illness, Foreign Minister Dominic Raab had taken the charge.
