Asia Bizz: MacBook Air Notebooks And Mac OS Lion Unveiled At Apple’s Back To The Mac Event
At the Back to the Mac event on Wednesday, Apple unveiled a lightweight version of the Macbook Air notebook, in addition to an updated version of its Mac OS operating system called Lion.
Steve Jobs, the CEO of Apple Inc, unveiled the new line of MacBook Airs at the aptly titled “Back to the Mac” event which took place at Apple’s headquarters in Cupertino, California. The event began at 10am PT on Wednesday, October 20.
Apple unveiled the new Macbook Air, which comes in two models – a 13.3-inch model and an 11.6-inch model. The former model will weigh 2.9 pounds, while the latter will be 2.3 pounds. Apple also stated that the new Macbook Air models will be on sale today. Reports state that some 11.6-inch models are expected to cost $999 onwards.
In addition to the above, a brand new version of iLife will be available today onwards and is expected to be $49 for current Mac owners. It is free on new Macs though.
