Asia Bizz: Walt Disney has decided it will open retail stores in China by the mid of 2012, as it will become the first of its kind store in Asia. This is the next major move by the American based entertainment sector in China, as in the year 2010, they had decided to expand the Shanghai Disney Theme Park.

Through this store, Disney will sell a number of franchise and merchandise related products in its sector, which includes a number of gifts, clothing and toys. The entire store will run under the Disney brand name, which is against the Chinese strategy. China wanted Disney to operate through its authorized dealers only, so this could also benefit the nation.

The company has said this is a major milestone for them in China, as this will be the first direct franchise store in the country. The Disney officials are looking forward to provide the people with a family shopping environment. These outlets will come up in Malls, Shopping Center’s, Departmental Stores and other commercial areas within important cities in China.
