Asia Bizz: Another recall by Toyota this year, and this time they are calling back 5,202 Lexus cars in China itself. It is not a major issue that company is facing this time, rather it is a malfunction problem with the gas pedal in the vehicles. The announcement regarding the recall was made by General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine (AQSIQ).
The AQSIQ is a product quality monitor in China and it has been noticing this fault in Toyota’s vehicle for sometime now. The issue was notified with the Japanese auto maker and it has taken the initiative to recall certain vehicles with the problem. As of now, the AQSIQ demands a full explanation and a proper solution to this issue in Toyota’s vehicles.
Toyota’s gas pedal issue has been explained – if the floor carpet in the car near the gas pedal is not placed in a proper manner, then the plastic padded which comes affixed in the carpet shall cause some sort of interference while operating the pedal. This issue will be sorted out if the vehicle is taken to the Toyota dealership. The vehicles which are most probably affected are the Lexus RX300/350 cars.
