Asia Bizz: Apple CEO Steve Jobs took an unusual break from his medical leave and stepped on stage to unveil his company’s latest creation – the Apple iPad 2. Jobs stated that his company had been working on this product from sometime, and he could not afford to miss the big launch of the tablet.

Jobs spoke about the much anticipated product and its importance to Apple, and the audience gave him a standing ovation because of his willingness to work for Apple even is such a weak condition. Specifications show that the device is 15% lighter than its previous version, and the front facing camera can be used for video chatting; while the rear one has an increased pixel rate boosted to 720p.

The current model is the Wi-Fi only model, and the 3G devices are set to be launched in 16, 32 and 64GB models. Besides being “thinner” than the previous version, Jobs said that the iPad 2 is also “faster” as it comes with a new A5 chip. The price of the tablet has been brought down considerably; the company claims the prices start from $499 only, which is low compared to the latest tablets which were launched in the market.
