Asia Bizz: On Thursday, the 3st of March 2011, the Government of Singapore Investment Corporation (GIC) opened an office in India in the cosmopolitan city of Mumbai – the commercial capital of India.

The fact remains that this office was operating since last year, but now, the Government of Singapore Investment Corporation has made this office as the official eighth overseas office located outside Singapore. The other offices of Government of Singapore Investment Corporation are located in places like London, New York and Tokya; all these places are of great importance to the economy of their respective countries.

This office of the Government of Singapore Investment Corporation in Mumbai, India will be taken care and headed by Mr Kishore Gotety as stated by GIC in a statement. The company looks forward to further partner relations in India and will start of with around 10 investments.

GIC has also been investing in India in the private markets since early 1990, and hence they already have a strong background in the country for further business. This will surely help in the Indian growth and relations between both these strong Asian countries.
