Asia Bizz: In some relief for Koreans, the government has announced that the fisheries and milk products are safe to consume and do not have any traces of radio active materials. After the massive earthquake and the crisis at the Fukushima nuclear plant in Japan, there were traces of radio nuclides found in the air.

After the Fukushima disaster, it was confirmed by the officials that small amounts of radioactive cesium and iodine and some xenon gas was also found since the 27th of March. These reports affected the milk and fish business in the Asian country. However, the level had started to fall in the recent days.

It has been assured by the Ministry of Agriculture, Food, Forestry and Fisheries that no susceptive material has been found in the samples that were taken from the cows produced between 7th April and 19th April.

The samples were collected from cows from 12 different regions especially from the east coast, which is closest to Japan. Samples were also taken from Jeju Island, where there are several milk cows. Apart from milk samples, samples were also collected from fisheries and seafood products in the waters around Korean Peninsula. After examination, the Ministry had said that all the fish products are safe to consume as they are free from contamination. This is good news for people in Korea, who had been previously advised to stay off milk and fish products. Moreover, new reports state that the announcement by the Korean Ministry has seen the sales of milk and fish items increase once again.
