Asia Bizz: Tesla Motors, a U.S. based company that makes electric vehicles announced that they will be launching their electric Model S sedan by the year 2013 in Japan. The sedan will be powered by lithium-ion battery.
The Model S sedan is currently under development stage and is promised to run about 200 kilometers on a single battery charge. The company also says that the car will do more kilometers if one chooses to install more batteries in the car.
Tesla, the California based company has said that they are looking forward to sell the car at a price of around 4.6 million yen which is approximately $57,000 US. The car will be sold in the Unites States earlier, and the production of the car will start at a plant in California.
The company has planned to start with a production of 20,000 units every year. This number may differ after the consumer demand post the first year.
