Asia Bizz: In some good news for SUV-crazy people, Indian automobile manufacturer Mahindra & Mahindra on 2nd June, launched the much awaited Scorpio Ex – which is an entry level variant of Scorpio. The SUV promises better fuel efficiency, due to its modified engine and the use of new technology.

The Scorpio Ex has a 75 bhp m2DiCR engine, which makes the SUV fuel-efficient with 14kmpl of mileage. The new vehicle is priced at Rs.7.28 lakhs and will have a maximum power output with 75 bhp and a massive torque of 20Nm.

The earlier versions of Scorpio had 115 bhp output for the base variant. The new SUV is also power packed with a micro-hybrid technology which helps the engine to go in to stand by mode when the vehicle is idle.

The technology thus makes the car fuel-efficient and also helps in lowering emissions. The Senior VP of Marketing, Vivek Nayar said during the launch that the Scorpio Ex is one of the best in class products from the Mahindra group. Nayar also assured that Mahindra & Mahindra will continue to roll out such world class products for its customers in future. The senior executive had also said that the new SUV will be offering better performance, along with extra ordinary fuel efficiency.
