Asia Bizz: Auto manufacturing company Audi India is planning to launch its new small SUV Audi Q3 in the Indian market, in order to boost its popularity in the India automobile sector. The small SUV is scheduled to be launched by next year.

Reports state that the production of the car has already begun in Spain. The Q3 will be launched in the US and European markets by the end of the year 2011.

The new Audi Q3 will be available in both petrol and diesel variants. The petrol car has a 2.0 L engine and delivers a maximum power of 211 bhp, while the diesel variant has a 2.0 l engine, which is capable of delivering a maximum power of 170 bhp.

The new Audi will be brought to India as a completely knocked down unit (CKD), which will be assembled at the Aurangabad (Gujarat) plant of the company. The Q3 will also come with the feature of four wheel drive (4WD). The new Audi beauty will be available between Rs. 20 lakhs to 25 lakhs.

After BMW and Mercedes, Audi is the third largest luxury car maker. Apart from the Q3, Audi already sells a range of SUV such as Q5 and Q7, as well as sedans like A4, A6, A7 and A8.
