Asia Bizz: Indian car manufacturer Maruti Suzuki is planning to launch the Maruti Suzuki Cervo car in the Indian automobile market. The best thing about the car for most Indian customers is the price tag of Rs. 2 Lakhs. The new car will be competing against the Tata Nano and its own Maruti Alto.
The Cervo will have a 800 cc engine, which will be delivering a maximum power up to 54 bhp. Moreover, to make the deal even more exciting, the car will be available with some improved features like power steering, leather upholstery, power windows and many other interesting features that may not be included in the cars of Maruti’s competitors.
Sources from the production unit have said that the car may be launched by October 2011, but no official announcement has been made. Another feature that may attract the consumers is its fuel efficiency.
In Japan, the Cervo comes with a 654 cc engine that is capable of delivering 23 kmpl. With the ever increasing prices of petrol in India, the fuel efficiency of the car will be a plus point for its market in India. Moreover, even the price of the car will make it a good selling car for Indian customers. Still the position of the Cervo is yet to be determined. One has to wait and watch till October, when the car will be launched and its final features will be revealed.
