Asia Bizz: Indian air carrier Indigo Airlines has announced that it will be commencing direct flights to Singapore, Dubai and Bangkok from New Delhi. The international operations will be beginning in the month of September 2011.

The airline has also announced a promotional return fare of Rs. 9,999 in a bid to get customers onto the new service. Indigo will be commencing flights to the destinations from Delhi in the month of September and from Mumbai in the month of October.

Indigo airlines is also aiming to attain a load factor of 80-90% on these routes. Aditya Ghosh, the Indigo president has said that they are waiting for the government permission to allow the operation of flights in Kathmandu and Muscat for the upcoming winter schedule.

The airline has said that it would be engaging eight of its 39 Airbus-320 aircrafts for the international operations. The flights will be carried out from the Terminal 1 of the Delhi Airport. In the upcoming six months the airline is looking to recruit more than a thousand employees. Ghosh had announced that there are opportunities for more than 200 pilots and more than 900 cabin crew in the next 600 days. Indigo had started flying on the Indian skies in the year 2006. The Indigo Airlines president has also said that they are hope to have at least 60 aircrafts by December 2012.
