Asia Bizz: Mobile phone manufacturer Motorola will soon be launching its Xoom tablet in India. The tablet will be the first honeycomb device to be launched in the country. The much anticipated Motorola tablet is expected to arrive in the Indian markets by the end of this month.
The Xoom tablet has been already released in USA in the month of February 2011, and is expected to come with Honeycomb OS – which happens to be a sibling to the Android operating system, which has been designed by Google specially for tablets.
With tablets like Acer Iconia, one may even feel that the Xoom is already late to arrive in the Indian market. However, the Acer device has been criticized due to poor built quality.
The features of the Acer Iconia are very similar to the Xoom. The plus point about Xoom is that is light in weight and is powered by a dual core processor with an Android 3.0 (honeycomb) with a 1 GHz Nvidia Tegra 2 dual core processor . The external features include a 10.1 inch display with a resolution of 1280 X 800 pixels, 2 mega pixel camera front-facing and a 5 mega pixel rear facing with a 1080 full HD video play back.
The Xoom will be available in two versions, 16BG and 32 GB via micro SD cards.
