Asia Bizz: Japanese automaker Honda Motors has unveiled its 2012 CR-V concept at the Orange County International Auto Show in Anaheim California. The new concept car will be introduced as a compact sports utility vehicle that is due to be released by the end of this year.
The 2012 CR-V will be the fourth generation of the CR-V, which had claimed its position in the year 1997. The introduction of the model has redefined the small SUV segment ever since it has been introduced in the US market.
When compared to the earlier CR-Vs, the new model has got a more rugged look and also represents a bold styling, which the company is increasingly adopting. John Mendel, the executive vice president of sales for American Honda, has said that the 2012 CR-V concept strongly hints the more dynamic and redefined look of the upcoming model.
The new car has a more fuel efficient engine and is also lighter in weight. The interior of the vehicle is more spacious than the earlier SUVs and the2012 CR-V SUV will be officially launched at the Los Angeles Auto Show in the month of November 2011. Honda has planned to allow the sales of the SUV in the US by the end of the year.
