Asia Bizz: Mobile manufacturing giant Apple Inc. might be the world’s largest smartphone maker, but these days it is finding it difficult to catch some market in India. Despite the fact that India has currently 602 million active subscribers, the phone giant is facing problems rising up in the Indian market thanks to RIM’s Blackberry phone range.
While Apple is going to unveil the latest version of the iPhone, it ships a few handsets to the Indian market as compared to Norway. In India, Nokia and Research In Motion dominate the smartphone market.
Every year, the shipment of the smartphones in the country grow to almost 70 percent per year and the trend is predicted to be carried on till 2015. The Indian market helps to make up the losses in the US and the Europe market.
The sales of the Apple phones are interrupted due to the wireless carriers in India that have already started the third generation networks from the year 2011. The Indian wireless carriers are yet to provide nationwide services for the users so that they could make the best use of the features of the iPhone. On the other hand, RIM has got the right product at the tight time with the right applications which can be made use of by the users and not just lie idle on the phones.
