Asia Bizz: State owned telecom company Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited has restored its services between the landline and the private mobile operators on October 28, after withdrawing the services from the private companies in India. The services have been resumed in the Punjab circle.
The telecom operator had restored the services after the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India had issued fresh directions to restore the services. One of the officials of the BSNL had said that the Points of Interconnection which provide the connectivity between BSNL landline phones and mobile phones of the private operators with in the state of Punjab have been restored.
The official added that the services were restored after the direction were received from the head office. However, similar directions were issued to BSNL which were ignored by them.
But later, the private mobile operators had then approached the regulatory body. BSNL had disconnected its services from the private operators on 29th September. The private operators include, Airtel, Vodafone, Tata, Reliance Communications and Idea. Due to this the customers were not able to call the other subscribers in the state of Punjab, Haryana and Chandigarh. Even BSNL subscribers were not able to make call to the private mobile operators, but the state-owned company had restored the services to the emergency numbers like 100, 101, 102 and 108 in the Punjab circle.
