Asia Bizz: Sports car making giant Porsche on December 13, 2011 entered Bangalore. This is the third dealership of the German auto giant in south India and the fourth dealership in 2011 alone.
The two other dealerships are in Hyderabad and Chennai. Raghu Nayak, the Principal Dealer at the Porsche Centre in Bangalore, stated that with the new showroom on Lavelle Road, they are also planning to open an after sales facility on Hosur road for their customers.
Ashish Chordia, the director of Porsche India, said that all the models will be available on order and also added that customers will have to wait for three to eight months for the delivery of the car. Chordia, while talking about the company’s performance last year, said that they delivered 134 cars in 2010 and this year Porche plans to deliver 500 units.
In terms of the sale of the car, Nayak stated that they expect to reach triple digit sales figure within two years. During the press conference, the Cayenne S was also unveiled. At the launch,Chordia said that out of the marker share of Porsche in India, 56 to 60 percent of these were from the Cayenne range. Nayak assured that the new facility will have a provision to display three cars and will also have a range of original accessories.
