Asia Bizz: Mobile device manufacturer Viewsonic has recently announced the launch of its new 10-inch tablet for the Indian market. The new tablet runs on Android Froyo OS and is named as ViewPad 10s.

The 10-inch tablet has been packed with features, but will still remain budget-friendly with a price tag of Rs 17,000. The tablet has been powered by a Nvidia’s Tegra 2 Dual Core processor and has two independent processor cores along with a graphics chip with low power consumption.

The features of the device include 10.1-inch LED backlit display with a resolution of 1024 X 600 pixels. The only disappointing thing is its OS, which is an Android Froyo, which is slightly outdated as the market is getting ready for the Android Ice Cream Sandwich.

The OS manages to permit 3G connectivity. But a drawback is that it does not have a rear camera, but comes with only a front 1.3 MP camera for video conferencing. The ViewPad 10s comes with 512 MB RAM of DDR2 SD RAM and another 512 MB of internal storage. The device isn’t so impressive in terms of internal storage when compared to other products in the market which come with a minimum of 16 GB. However the on board Micro SD slot supports up to 32 GB.
