Due to the week monsoon this year, there are chances that the prices of milk might go up by Rs. 1 to Rs. 2 per litre. At present the dairy giants like Amul and Mother Dairy are analysing the situation and could shortly announce the hike in the prices.
The dairies have cited the week monsoon and the upcoming Gujarat elections as the major reasons for the hike. On the other hand the other milk cooperatives and private companies do not feel the need to hike the prices as the daily milk procurement is more than what it was in the earlier year. Despite the weak monsoon the daily milk procurement has increased by 18%.
