Chinese car makers often hesitate to recall cars for defects. US car makers on the other hand, have a trend of recalling vehicles upon the discovery of the smallest defect. For Chinese customers, vehicle recall policies are undergoing changes which may make cars safer in the country.

China will now have Management Regulations on Recalling Faulty Vehicles, which will be implemented on January 1, 2013. This means that even China will have the same recall rules as that of the US. This has come as some good news for car owners in China. In recent times, many Chinese car makers have been facing issues with defects in cars, which have resulted in global recalls.
