Bollywood actor Aamir Khan’s much awaited movie ‘Talaash’ is expected to  ring box office registers despite the fact that it is going to be released during the non-festive season. According to trade analysts, the movie is likely to collect Rs. 15 crores on the opening day itself.

Other superstars like Shahrukh Khan and Salman Khan have always followed a practice of releasing their movies during the holiday season, so as to attract a bigger audience. However, once again Aamir has differed from the trend and decided to release his movie during the non-festival season.

The makers of the movie had interestingly came up with the novel idea of opening advance bookings three months before the movie’s actual release date. However, the idea may not have paid much dividends. Sanjay Dalia, the President of Cinemax India Ltd said, “The advance bookings have not really seen too much of audience excitement. We only see the advance bookings picking up closer to the date of release, in this case around Wednesday and Thursday.”

A similar statement was made by the Marketing head of PVR Cinemas Gautam Dutta, who clarified that the movie only had pre-bookings and not advanced bookings, which means that the showtimes were not decided. Trade analysts said that this might have happened as the filmmakers did not promote the film well.
