Malaysian war hero Temenggong Datuk Kanang Langkau has passed away according to reports on January 4, 2013. According to Langkau’s wife Brawang Chunggot he was in the best of health a few hours before his sad demise as he sipped on his favorite coffee and watched news and football highlights around midnight on January 3, 2013.
The 68-year-old war veteran complained of chest pain and breathing trouble and fell unconscious shortly afterwards. Brawang, who was doing some household chores at the time said that she did not even have time to say goodbye to her husband and was devastated at her loss. The bereaved wife of the war hero said that he was always in a good mode, quite jolly and loved to have a laugh. Langkau was rushed to Sarawak General Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Kanang’s first wife Helen Latai passed away in 2011, with whom he had 6 children. The late serviceman also had 5 children with Brawang. Langi, who is Kanang’s youngest son said that his fathers death came as a shock to the family and that they were not aware of him having any major illness.
The family has decided not to have an autopsy out of respect for the war veteran and have suspected that cardiac arrest was the cause of his demise.
