American multinational internet corporation Yahoo! Inc. has this week announced an alliance with search engine giant Google. Yahoo was once the pioneer of internet search the world over, a title which was later taken over by Google.
Google will now use its ad targeting skills for certain Yahoo! properties. Sunnyvale California-based Yahoo said that this will enable the company to put relevant marketing messages in available spaces.
Yahoo! explained their point with an example of someone who is looking for boots for purchase online. If this person can see ads which are not related to online shoe companies, it may turn them off the idea of buying goods online. The American corporation said, “If you see an ad for boots, that’s instantly going to pique your attention more than an ad for, say, a car battery”.
The company also said that the move would benefit users, which is why contextual advertising was such a powerful tool. Yahoo! website users will also get an opportunity to get acquainted with Google's AdSense and Admob. Yahoo! added, that with the help of Google, they would be able to expand their network further, which means that they can now serve ads that are even more meaningful.
