In some god news for the commuters in Delhi who use the metro service, a new mobile application will soon be launched, which will provide information regarding fares and stations. This also includes the services coming up in Phase III.
The new application is expected to work offline, which means that users will not have to be connected to the internet at all times to access it. People will also be able to download the latest version of the application online. A tender has been floated by the DMRC for the development of the application and the final date of admission has been set as March 28, 2013.
The application can provide facilities like fares between stations, information about the nearest metro stations, timings of the last train at various stations, route information, travel time, metro map and parking availability on the station premises. The users of the application can also get information regarding landmarks and tourists spots near metro stations, along with feeder services and helpline numbers.
The Metro Map will allow for users a graphical interactive map, which would display the current location and allow for one to zoom in and out as well. Even details of the feeder and DTC buses will be available at different stations.
