Bollywood star Priyanka Chopra’s performance in the movie ‘Barfi’ was well appreciated by the audience. However, the actress is upset that the movie did not manage to grab a single National Award.

The winners of the 60th National Awards were announced on March 18, 2013. Priyanka, while talking to reporters said, “I am feeling bad that Barfi! did not win National Award. But then it is up to the jury why they did not give the award”.

The movie ‘Barfi’ also had Ranbir Kapoor and Ileana D’Cruz in starring roles; D’Cruz was also making her Bollywood debut. The story of the flick revolves around a deaf and dumb boy, played by Ranbir Kapoor and an autistic girl played by Priyanka Chopra.

Chopra could not get a National Award, but was happy about the fact that her sister Parineeti Chopra won a special mention for her performance in the movie ‘Ishaqzaade’. Chopra said that she was happy for her sister and that there were two national awards in the Chopra family. The movie ‘Barfi’ was written and directed by Anurag Basu and was made with a budget of Rs. 30 crore. It was released on September 14, 2012 in India. The movie had received positive reviews and was most appreciated for the positive portrayal of the disabled in films.
