Indian tablet manufacturer Micromax has listed its new A72 Canvas Viva phablet on the popular online shopping site Flipkart.com under the ‘coming soon’ section. The new phablet, which is a combination of a phone and a tablet, sports a 5-inch display and runs on the Android 2.3 Ice Cream Sandwich platform.
The device is powered by a 1Ghz processor, along with 256MB of RAM. The other features of the tablet include a 3-megapixel camera, VGA front camera, 2000mAh battery and 2G EDGE support with 110 MB of internal storage, which can be expanded up to 16GB with a micro SD card. The specifications of the device are not very exciting, but the pricing is expected to be attractive enough to lure tech enthusiasts.
The official pricing of the device is yet to be unveiled and it is expected to be priced between Rs. 6,000 to Rs. 8,000. The company is already offering the A110 Canvas 2, which is a budget phablet having a 5-inch screen. The device was launched in the month of October 2012, at the cost of Rs. 9,999. The A110 is a dual-SIM phablet, which is powered by a 1Ghz dual core processor, running off 512 MB RAM.
Reports say that the company is already working on the A115 Canvas 3D phone, which is expected to come with a 5-inch WVGA screen and a resolution of 480×800 pixels.
