Users of the email service Gmail were facing problems in accessing the accounts on May 2, 2013. Reports said that there were some service disruptions, which took place in the morning, but users said that their emails are now working fine. The social networking site Twitter was flooded with complaints as angry users complained about the issue.
So far the issue has not been acknowledged by Google on their website. People on Twitter complained that the service was down for about an hour. Many of the users said that they got the 502 error while they tried to access Google services. The Tweets had indicated that the problem occurred only for users in India.
However, so far there is no sign from Google on its official communication channels regarding the glitch. James Crabtree, the head of the Mumbai Financial times, said that the reason of the outage was due to a power cut in Gurgaon. The message on the error page said, “502. That’s an error. The server encountered a temporary error and could not complete your request. Please try again in 30 seconds. That’s all we know”.
These errors usually appear due to poor communication between the servers. There have been various occasions when Google users have faced a similar problem in the past.
