Airbus SAS did not comment on the orders’ value and two Chinese clients of the aircraft manufacturer have just received an approval by the Civil Aviation Administration of China. Qingdao Airlines – which was founded in June 2013 – ordered 23 aircraft and the first delivery is scheduled for 2016, however, the airline will commence its operation with some leased aircraft in 2014.

Xiao Liyuan, the president of Qingdao Airlines said, “As a newly established airline, we needed to do thorough research before making a decisionon what aircraft to use to start operations and build up our brand new fleet”. A Memorandum of Understanding has been signed by the second client of Airbus SAS, Zhejiang Loong Airlines Co Ltd, for 20 aircraft from A320-family.

The company’s third client is Bank of China Aviation Pte Ltd – a subsidiary of Bank of China Ltd – which made an order for 25 aircraft from Airbus SAS.
