Indian auto manufacturing giant Bajaj is all set to release two additional Discover brand models very soon. With the upcoming launch, the company is going to fulfil its previously set target, which was to launch six new models.
K Srinivas, the president of the motorcycle business said, “We have earlier announced plans to launch six new models in Discover and Discover 100M is our fourth product in that. We will be launching two more Discover models in near future”.
The new model which has been launched on Friday, October 18, 2013 is into the value segment – the biggest portion of the mileage segment – and is between 100 CC to 125 CC. If the vehicle exceeds 150 CC, the company considers it to belong in the Sports segment, which is handled by Bajaj Auto’s Pulsar brand.
The bike falls in the segment which has total sales of 3.78 lakh units, which is around 45% of the total 8.35 lakh ijn the overall motorcycle market. Right now, the company has 20% share in the value segment. However, the president of the business refused to reveal targets set by the company for Discover in India, but did say that he wants it to be the number one brand in the country in the future.
