Auto giant Honda Cars India has officially confirmed that the next generation 2014 Honda City is scheduled to have its global premiere on November 25, 2013 in India. The auto maker has sent an invitation which says, ” The global unveiling of an iconic model which has redefined automotive design and technology”.
However, the company did not release any images of the next generation vehicle just yet. Meanwhile, Honda has started taking pre-orders of the 2014 City as the company is out of the current generation City stocks. The new vehicle will be showcased at the 2014 Indian Auto Expo, with deliveries of the vehicle scheduled to be begin after the event.
The new Honda City is most likely going to be available in six to eight variants, as well as in petrol and diesel engine versions. The petrol model will have the 1.5-litre i-VTEC engine, while the diesel variant will be equipped with 1.5-litre i-DTEC engine, which has also powered the Honda Amaze. The new diesel engine will be tuned to bring down the NVH level of the vehicle.
The City has been designed on the new Jazz platform and will get a completely new look. It will feature bigger wrap with a clear lens headlamps with projector lights, new LED tail lamps, in addition to prominent creases on both sides.
