Indian telecom operator Idea Cellular unveiled the new Android-powered dual-SIM smartphone Aurus 4 for the Indian market on November 28, 2013. The new Aurus 4 has been launched in the country and comes with a price tag of Rs. 8,999.
The new device is the latest addition in the Aurus series of 3G smartphones. Features of the new phone include a 4.5-inch display, a 1.3GHz dual-core processor, it runs on the Android Jelly Bean, has a 1,800 mAh battery and a 5-megapixel camera with video calling facility. Sashi Shankar, the company’s chief marketing officer in a statement said, “The young and savvy youth of India has a huge appetite for content on mobile, but is deterred due to highly priced smartphones in India. Idea is bridging this gap by offering 3G smartphones packed with high-end features at relatively low price”.
In recent times, Idea Cellular unveiled the new five-inch smartphone ‘Ultra’. Earlier, the company sold more than six lakh devices from several models in different categories, including the 3.5-inch, 4-inch and 4.5-inch in India.
The new device by Idea will be sold through its own retail and service outlets in the biggest 3G markets, which include Maharashtra and Goa, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Kerala, UP West and East, Haryana, Jammu and Kashmir, Andhra Pradesh and Himachal Pradesh.
