Auto manufacturer Honda revealed the much-awaited fourth generation of its City model on January 7, 2014 in India. The new model launched will also feature a diesel variant, which was missing from the country’s line-up until now.

The petrol version of the new Honda City will be priced starting from Rs. 7.42 lakh (ex-showroom price Delhi), while the diesel variant’s price will start from Rs. 8.62 lakh. Honda’s diesel version will have an i-DTEC diesel engine and the company is stating that it will provide a mileage of 26 kmpl. In addition to that, the new City will be offered in six colors.

For now, the diesel version of the vehicle will be available for immediate delivery, while the petrol models will be available from mid-February 2014. The company has already started taking orders for the new Honda City and has received more than 9,000 bookings for the new vehicle so far.

The new Honda City was unveiled in November 2013 in New Delhi. This is the first time that the company chose India to debut a brand new car. The first generation of the model was launched in 1998 and the company has managed to sell 4.3 lakh units of the model in the country since then. The new version will be competing with other vehicles in the market, including Hyundai Verna, Volkswagen Vento and Skoda Rapid.
