The US-based tech giant Motorola announced on May 1, 2014 that it will release a new smartphone on May 13, 2014 for the Indian, as well as the UK market at the same time. The company will be organizing press events in New Delhi and London in order to unveil the new device. Reports say that the latest device by Motorola will be known as the ‘Moto E’.

As usual, the invitation for the upcoming press launch did not reveal much about the new smartphone. The new Moto E will reportedly feature a 4.3-inch screen and will include a 1.2 GHz dual-core processor, 1 GB of RAM, a 5-megapixel camera and a 1,900 mAh battery. The press invitation sent by the company reads, “Connect more people to the world’s information and each other and they can do great things. Introducing the next Smartphone from Motorola to make these connections happen.”

The invitation also states that the device is made to last and is priced for all. With this in mind, it is expected that the new phone will be a budget-friendly device. There are chances that Motorola will price the new handset similarly to its Moto G, which is available in India for Rs. 12,000.

It has been reported that smartphone sales in India grew almost 3-fold to more than 44 million in 2013.
