The One Plus 5 handset became quite popular in the Indian market. However, one of the buyers of the smartphone has claimed that he received the handset without the volume button. An image was posted as proof on social media, which has shown the left panel of the device with empty volume cut-outs without the actual buttons.
The buyer was offered a full refund of by a popular e-commerce website, which sold the handset as the device is out of stock in India. The Twitter user had tweeted the new handset which did not have the volume controls and wrote, “The just delivered OnePlus 5 volume button/switch missing”. The handset purchaser also claimed that the One Plus 5 retail box had the volume box loosely placed in the box.
The company is yet to give an answer to the incident. This could be a case of a defective piece but has hardly happened with any other handset manufacturers. The One Plus 5 handset was launched for the Indian market for Rs. 32,999 and was also made available through offline pop up events apart from being available online.
The device comes in two variants 6 GB RAM/64 GB storage variant and 8GB RAM/128 GB storage which is priced at Rs. 37,999. The One Plus 5 runs on Android 7.1.1 Nougat operating system and is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 SoC. The device also features 16 mega pixel rear cameras and 20 megapixel telephoto camera with a 16 mega pixel front camera as well.
