Indian consumer electronics company Micromax has launched a new budget smartphone Bharat2 Ultra for the Indian market. Micromax has joined hands with the telecom network operator Vodafone and is offering the new smartphone for just Rs. 999. The offer from the company has mentioned that the subscriber has to buy the smartphone at Rs. 2,899 and will have to recharge the new or the existing Vodafone numbers for Rs. 150 every month for three years.
By the end of 18 months the subscriber will get a cash back of Rs. 900 and a cash back of Rs. 1000 after the completion of the next 18 months in the Vodafone’s digital wallet known as M-Pesa. So the effective price of the handset remains at Rs. 999. Co-founder of Micromax, Rahul Sharma in a statement said, “This partnership with Vodafone will bring in the next phase of smartphone adoption by helping consumers to upgrade from feature phones to smartphones,”
Sharma added that they intend to give a superior device experience in the most affordable way and that they have already sold more than two million handsets. Some of the features of the smartphone include Speadtrum SC9832 1.3 GHz quad core processor with 512MB RAM and 4 GB Internal Storage. The device has a 4 inch WVGA screen with 2 MP camera and a 0.3 mega pixel front camera.
The Bharat 2 Ultra runs on Android Marshmallow operating system and has a 1300 mAh battery. The new handset by Micromax will soon be available at the stores as well as Vodafone Stores from the first week of November.
