Asia Bizz: Singapore-based computer peripherals manufacturer Kobian has launched its new tablet mTab Rio for the Indian market on July 2, 2012. The new mTab Rio is now available with a price tag of ₹11,999 in the country.

The company mentioned the features of the tablet which include – 1 GB RAM, 1.2 GHZ processor and 8 GB internal storage. The device runs on Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich and has the connectivity features like 3G and Wi Fi.

Sushmita Das, the country manager India Kobian said, “Today, the trend is driven by the successive devices that deliver higher resolution display. IPS LCD display is a smart driven technology adopted by major brands to provide better quality of viewing experience or show tailing when touched making them the ideal for Tablet experience. Mercury mTab & mTab Neo has been a great success in India, we are confident that people shall enjoy Mercury mTab Rio equally or more”.

Other features of the tablet include a 2 megapixel rear camera along with a front camera and HDMI output. It seems like the market is now flooded with a variety of tablet PCs offered by different companies. At present, the iPad of Apple is in the lead and dominates the tablet market. In recent times companies like iBerry and iBall have also introduced their tablets.
