The Chinese consulate office on July 31, 2012 said that after the detainment of about eighteen Chinese fishermen off the Russia’s Far East region last year, they have been released and returned home. Vice consul general at the Chinese Consulate in Khabarovsk and director of the Chinese Consulate, Song Liqun said that the fishermen have gone back to China from the Poltavka border in Russia’s Far East.
A bus was chartered by the Chinese consulate to transport the Chinese Nationals from the east Russain port of Nokhoda where they were held. The Chinese fishermen and their fishing boats were seized from China’s eastern Shadong province. by the Russian coastal service for entering Russia’s exclusive economic zone.
