India will be feeling fairly confident going into their next cricket Test match against Australia. The Australian team has dropped four top players from its ranks from the next game following disciplinary measures, according to reports on March 11, 2013. The Australian coach Mickey Arthur said that he was drawing a line and taking a stand on the issue.
The Australian players were asked to submit 3 points to the coach in regards to how they could improve their performances in India. The team has lost its first two Test matches of the series in India and are not coping well in the subcontinental conditions. Shane Watson, Mitchell Johnson, James Pattinson and Usman Khawaja have now bee dropped from the team, as they did not submit the points within the stipulated 5 days.
The English team will also be interested in these developments, as the Aussies play them in the Ashes series later on in the year. Mickey Arthur is the first overseas coach for Australia and is taking a hard line approach to the defeats.
Former players like Allan Border and Mark Waugh have expressed their dismay at the coach’s actions, saying that it was not school cricket for such decisions to be made. The Australians will play India on March 14, 2013 in the 3rd Test match of the series and will have just 13 players to chose a final 11 from.
