The sensational murder case of Arushi Talwar has now taken a new turn. The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), which is investigating the case for the last five years, has told the court that the teenaged girl was killed by her own parents and that no outsider had been involved in the crime.

During the disposition of the case, in front of the Additional Judge S Lal, CBI investigator AGL Kaul said that the investigations revealed that there was no evidence of the involvement of a third person’s entry in the house. The officer appeared as a prosecution witness and said that only Rajesh and Nupur were present in the house when Arushi and their domestic help were killed on May 15-16, 2008.

Kaul added that there was certain evidence uncovered in the case, such as the dragging of the body to the roof, covering with a cooler panel, locking of Aarushi’s bedroom from outside and the dressing up of the scene, which clearly indicates that only Rajesh and Nupur have killed Aarushi and Hemraj.

In December 2010, the officer filed a closure report, where he mentioned a chain of circumstantial evidence which had pointed towards the Talwars, but there wasn’t any admissible evidence against them. However, the Magistrate had then rejected the closure report and asked the Talwars to face the trail instead.
