Mobile phone manufacturer Celkon has revealed its first-ever AR Rahman-themed smartphone – which has been named RahmanIshq AR45 – for the Indian market. The new device has been branded by the company as a music smartphone, which features a 4.5-inch screen and runs on Android 4.2 Jelly Bean.
The latest device has K-Class amplifier for an improved music experience and the phone's debut has also marked the beginning of Rahman's international tour. The AR45 has a 1.2GHz dual-core processor with 512 MB of RAM, as well as a 5-megapixel camera with a special feature called Smile Capture. When it comes to connectivity, the device supports 2G, 3G, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth and microUSB.
The device has 4 GB of internal storage and is also powered by Shake & Transfer technology, which enabled it to transfer data. The AR45 will be launched in the Indian market in October 2013 and will be priced at Rs. 7,999 across the stores in the country.
Rahman was the chief guest at the launch event and said, “I always believe that technology is very important in the world of music.” The Oscar-winning music composer went on to say that the handset is an example of how technology needs to be mixed with music for premium results.
