South Korean multinational conglomerate company Samsung is gearing up for the release of another mid-range handset in India. Following the extremely successful launch of Galaxy Grand 2 in the country, the tech giant is looking to debut the advanced version of the original Galaxy Core a bit earlier than expected in the Indian market.
The upcoming Galaxy Core Advance is the Galaxy Core’s successor and the latest low-to-mid range device from Samsung which features physical navigation buttons. Even though the dual-core phone was recently released globally, the company did not reveal its retail price nor availability plans in India. However, it is widely reported that the new phone will become available in the second week of January 2014 and has been listed on Homeshop18 – an online shopping website – and the page says that the device is ‘Coming Soon’.
The new Galaxy Core Advance from Samsung is a phone made for budget-conscious users and it represents an improved version of the original Galaxy Core which had its debut in June 2013. The upcoming device features a larger, 4.7-inch display and has a resolution of 480 x 800 pixels. In addition to that, it has 8GB of internal memory which can be expanded up to 64GB thanks to a microSD card slot, a 5-megapixel rear-facing camera and a front-facing VGA quality camera. The new device also has a 1.2GHz dual-core processor with 1 GB of RAM.
Based on these features and specifications, the Galaxy Core Advance will most likely come with a price tag of under Rs. 16,000, especially because Motorola will be releasing its Moto G in India in January 2014 as well.
