The upcoming projects will be launched at the right time and will reportedly have the highest international safety standards. With the latest development, the country’s government is planning to improve economic situation in China. In order to do this, it is working towards getting the approvals of nuclear plants, in addition to other energy-related projects.

The National Energy Administration said that China will unveil another nuclear plant which will have the capacity of 8.6 GW. Meanwhile, experts state that the dependence of the country on nuclear power is still very small. China’s 20 reactors contributed to just 1.2 percent of the energy use in the country in 2013 and the number is still much lower than the global average of 9.8 percent.

The director of the Xiamen-based China Center for Energy Economic Research, Lin Boqiang said that the central government has given a clear indication that it is accelerating the approval process of nuclear plants and this can increase the capacity of power generation.
