Masterblaster Sachin Tendulkar’s autobiography ‘Playing It My Way’ has entered the Limca Book of Records as it became the Best-selling adult hardback cross in fiction as well as non-fiction categories. The Indian cricket player might have said good bye to professional cricket but still ruled the hearts of many of his fans.
Sachin’s autobiography was published by Hachette India and hit the book shelves on November 6, 2014. The book has managed to break all records in terms of fiction and non-fiction categories and has sold more than 1,50,280 copies on order subscriptions.
A statement from the Limca Book of Records announced, “Sachin Tendulkar’s autobiography ‘Playing It My Way’ published by Hachette India was released on Nov 6, 2014, and broke all records for an adult hardback across both fiction and non-fiction categories with 1,50,289 copies confirmed on order subscriptions”.
Boria Majumdar has co-authored the book and has left behind some of the other best sellers including JK Rowling’s ‘Casual Vacancy’, Dan Brown’s ‘Inferno’ and ‘Walter Isaacson’s ‘Steve Jobs’. Sachin’s autobiography became popular from day one and also noticed a sharp rising trend. The retail sale of the book has a record value of $1.96 million.
